I included this piece because it bridges the gap between my academic insights and my professional practice at RTC, focusing on enhancing the value of technical education and advocating for its recognition.

In this paper from my EDLPS 580 class, I examine the pivotal role of technical colleges in higher education, specifically their ability to effectively serve diverse learners. I address the negative stigmas associated with technical education and propose strategies for enhancing its status and accessibility. 

I selected this artifact because it embodies my commitment to advocating for technical education as a valuable pathway in higher education. It also reflects my efforts to merge academic theory with practical application to improve educational outcomes for a diverse student population, underscoring my role at RTC and my academic focus on policy advocacy and community outreach.


In this paper from my EDLPS 598 class, I explore the impact of microaggressions on identity development within higher education contexts. Using Helms' White Racial Identity Development Model, I analyze how these subtle interactions influence student experiences. 

I chose this artifact because it demonstrates my ability to apply complex theoretical frameworks to address equity and diversity issues, which are pivotal both in my academic pursuits and in my professional role at RTC, where understanding and addressing diverse student experiences is critical.


This revised report from my EDLPS 565 class captures a leadership observation at the Bellevue School District Board of Directors Meeting. The meeting was a significant platform for community engagement and reflection on the district’s initiatives towards equity and inclusion. It featured interactions between board members, the superintendent, and the community, showcasing various leadership styles and strategies.

I selected this artifact because it illustrates my analytical skills in observing and interpreting dynamic leadership interactions within a significant educational setting. It reflects my ability to dissect complex leadership dynamics and the effects of diverse leadership styles on community engagement and policy discussion. This project underscores my commitment to understanding and applying leadership theories in real-world settings, a core aspect of my academic and professional development in the LHE program.
